Milan Fashion Week SS’13

Sheer Lace

Sheer made an appearance in New York and London, so of course Milan had to continue the trend! Gowns waltzed down the runway with expert sheer lace detailing and elegant silhouettes. We love the delicate lacework and soft colors.

Print Blocking

One of the most popular trends this season is blocking. This is either done with prints and colors, like Gabriele Colangelo and No. 21, or prints on prints, like Dolce & Gabbana. Whichever way you decide to wear it, bright colors and bold prints are key!

Stripes

Stripes are making a comeback on the runway this season, creating looks ranging from retro-mod to simple and clean-cut. Diagonal stripes were paired with vertical and horizontal stripes to mix up the traditional striped look. Similar to London and New York, different textures and sizes were paired together to create sporty- feminine looks.

Fringe

From the classic 20s inspired look to a modern sexy mini, fringe popped up in Milan and made a big statement. Bottega Veneta and Roberto Cavalli put their own twists on the iconic flapper look, while Versace opted for a disco glamour look.

Diagonal Lines

Geometric cuts and patterns have been spotted on all the runways these few weeks, and Milan is no exception. For a bold look, try Versace’s peek-a-boo cut dress or Just Cavalli’s mix of fabric cuts and patterned lines. Genny and Sportmax opted for softer colors and clean-cut lines.

Pure Color Nail Art

Skinny Dipper
Brush nails with Absinthe. Brush Dilettante over it, from mid-nail to tips. With a toothpick, draw 3-4 thin horizontal stripes of Blue Blood, as fine as you can make them, across the nails.

Pretty Naughty

Paint nails with Insatiable from the Pretty Naughty Collection. Then add Chaos in a half “moon” on the right and left sides of each nail, base to tip.

I’m with the Band

Brush nails with Coral Cult. Add a broad horizontal stripe of Absinthe across middle of nails.

Purple Moon

Stroke Lilac Leather on nails. Brush Smashed on moon area only.

Learn How To Create The Perfect Halloween Manicure

No costume is complete without a Halloween-themed manicure and this nail treat is no trick. Polish pro Hannah, of PixiePolish, has whipped up some webs in classic Halloween colors. Though the design looks intricate, you don't need to be Spiderman to craft these webs. Simply grab your polishes, black craft paint, and a toothpick or a thin brush to start this frightfully delightful manicure. The design is the perfect festive finishing touch

Step One: Apply Orange Polish
"Start by applying a base coat followed by orange polish," says nail guru Hannah.

Step Two: Create The French Tip

"Using black acrylic crafting paint and a toothpick (or brush if you prefer!), create an outline for a french tip. Then, fill in the tip with black nail polish."

Step Three: Start Your Lines
"Next, using black acrylic paint, make five lines down the nail, all meeting at the middle of the tip."
The Finished Look
Now you're ready to show off your completed costume and hit the inevitable candy coma. If you're short on time, you can even just do webs on a few nails and leave the rest orange and black!
Step Four: Add Intersecting Curves
"Using the black craft paint again, create thin curves connecting each line. Apply a top coat and you're done!"

Burberry Prorsum

Steppjacken sehen immer nach Landadel aus. Ist das schlimm? Nein. Aber denken Sie dran: Adel verpflichtet, also feilen Sie an Ihren Manieren.

Ermenegildo Zegna

Tierliebhaber Augen zu: Wir tragen Lamm diesen Winter, politisch leider nicht so anerkannt, dafür schön warmweich. Und manchmal muss man halt anecken.

Maison Martin Margiela
